Protection against allergies for children with probiotic milk products
Pregnant women taking probiotic dairy products may offer some protection against atopic dermatitis and rhinoconjunctivitis. This is the result of a recent study from Norway. The scientists investigated whether eating probiotic dairy products during pregnancy and early childhood can provide protection against allergic diseases.
Children of women who had taken probiotic milk products during pregnancy (over 13 ml / day) showed a slight advantage compared to children of mothers who did not. Her children were less likely to have atopic eczema at six months of age and less likely to experience rhinoconjunctivitis at 18 to 36 months of age. (pm)
